Fitted me in for an appointment for puppy vaccination on the day I rang. Lovely and friendly staff and the vet explained everything in detail. They have looked after my dog ever since and are so caring with her

I have a very nervous rescue who is only 10 months old and as my normal vets in Newton Le Willows had no vet on site we were given an app for St Helens. My dog is quite scared of new people and is still very much adjusting to life in the UK and as this was a new vets so was understandably nervous. From start to finish the vet came across rude, dismissive and didn’t appear to listen to anything I had to say. I was told my dog needed to be on drugs for her nerves and in training, we went in for an ear infection that I needed ear drops for and was nearly charged £106. He couldn’t swab her as she was too scared, tried to muzzle her which terrified her even more and after repeatedly saying I just needed ear drops, was nearly charged for an injection also which I told him to forget. Zero bed side manner and didn’t do anything to calm my dog in anyway, just no empathy or care whatsoever! She’s only just got used to our normal vet so I hope this visit hasn’t completely traumatised her as I have to go back in a week for her check up! Since our practice has been taken over they either seem to be closed, out sick or no vet on site so I’m considering leaving medi vet altogether after this. Only saving grace was the lovely reception staff and nurse.

I have taken my dogs to Medivet for a good while now and I cannot praise them highly enough. All staff are very friendly and professional and always greet you with a smile. I recently had a traumatic experience…my beloved dog was so poorly he had to have end of life treatment at Medivet Alder. They tried everything possible to make him better but sadly nothing could save him. The support I received from the onset to the end was amazing both from St Helens and Alder Thank you so much.
